CardioOncology is a new multidisciplinary field that addresses early detection and prevention of cardiac related dysfunction secondary to cancer therapy. Due to the increasing number of cancer therapies and the extended survival of the cancer patient, there is a need for recognition of the cardiovascular risk and disease states that impacts the survival and quality of life of the cancer survivor.
