2024 Fluoroscopy Operator Training & Radiation Safety



This course is designed for fluoroscopy operators & radiation support staff to support the "Keep Me Safe" service standard while we care of our patients in procedural and surgical care locations. The training content reviews radiation safety best practices, procedures and risks associated with fluoroscopy. Radiation principles of operation and procedures will also be touched on and is aimed to help limit occupational radiation exposure to yourself and team.

Objectives
At the end of this course, participants should be able to:

  1. Foster awareness of radiation behavior.
  2. Develop a firm understanding of how to use radiation. Risk vs benefit for the patients and risk for all involved.
  3. Provide skills to reduce unnecessary exposure to patient, team, and self.
  4. Encourage Medical Staff leaders help promote a radiation safe culture.
