AdventHealth GME is participating in the AIAMC National Initiative VIII - JEDI: Justice, Equity, Diversity, Inclusion. Our JEDI project is a curriculum development based project in which select programs will host speakers and present topics centered around marginalized groups, including the African American, Muslim, LGBTQ, Hispanic, Low SES, Immigrant, and Women in healthcare communities. Each lecture will be followed by an organized volunteer event for our fellows to have an experiential learning opportunity within the community group identified. Gastroenterology and Hepatology Fellows will have the opportunity to participate in each lecture, as well as the volunteer portion of the project, as well as subjects for data collection in regards to volunteer engagement and the measure of implicit bias.

  2. We aspire to provide our residents with an immersive and impactful learning experience to move them in their own journeys as well as help improve their medical care of people within marginalized communities.
