2020 Human Trafficking Symposium

This educational activity will concentrate on defining human trafficking and sharing basic information. Healthcare is one of the few opportunities in which the lives of trafficking victims intersect with the general population. Research shows that many human trafficking victims may receive medical treatment in a hospital while in captivity. Healthcare professionals are in a unique position to respond to human trafficking victims. They are often the only person to have private contact with the victim. Learn about the prevalence, types, and indicators of human trafficking as well as resources and ways to support and respond to trafficked patients/victims.
