Justin Kelly is Assistant Professor of Surgery at University of Central Florida College of Medicine in Orlando, Florida, where he is a practising colorectal surgeon. He received his medical degree with honours, through academic scholarship, from the Royal College of Surgeons in Dublin, Ireland.


Dr. Kelly has co-authored numerous articles published in DCR, Annals of Surgery, Minerva Chirurgica, Mini-invasive Surgery, Surgical Endoscopy, Techniques in Coloproctology, Journal of Gastrointestinal Surgery, and the World Journal of Surgery. He has authored 3 books, including one on gastrointestinal disease and treatment, and 5 book chapters on subjects including master techniques in surgery and transanal minimally invasive surgery. He has presented guest lectures in the United States and Europe on topics such as robotic-assisted transanal minimally invasive surgery, managing anastomotic leaks, minimally invasive surgery for stage 3 colon adenocarcinoma, high resolution anoscopy, surgery for complicated terminal ileal Crohns disease and many more. He is founder and director of the Anal dysplasia Clinic in Altamonte Springs and is director of the annual Orlando Colorectal Congress. He serves on numerous editorial boards and is a site surveyor for the NAPRC.


Dr. Kelly’s recent publication was a study of the impact of residual nodal involvement after complete tumor response in patients undergoing neoadjuvant (chemo)radiotherapy for rectal cancer.
