Angela’s perinatal history includes 7 years at a high risk, inner-city, tertiary care teaching hospital in Nebraska before relocating to Florida in 2010. Prior to becoming a nurse, Angela received her Bachelor of Science in Education from Drake University. She has worked in various roles during her 13 years at AdventHealth which include, staff nurse in Labor & Delivery, Altamonte Perinatal Educator, System Perinatal Education, and Senior Manager of Perinatal Nursing Education. In her current role, Angela is responsible for standardization and implementation of OB education across the AdventHealth Central Florida Division. Angela has been a speaker twice for the Florida Perinatal Quality Collaborative about her experiences with the Obstetric Hemorrhage Initiative and has presented a poster at the FPQC and Florida AWHONN conferences about AdventHealth’s journey to EFM competence among nursing staff. The education team presented 2 posters at the national AWHONN conference in Denver, CO, in June 2022. Angela holds a Bachelor of Science in Education from Drake University and Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Creighton University. She is currently enrolled in the Master of Science in Nursing Education program at Grand Canyon University.

 

Angela and her husband, John, have 2 children. Matthew attended Florida State University (go Noles!) and graduated recently with his Bachelor of Science degree in Music Education. Her daughter, Molly, is started college at Lenoir-Rhyne in North Carolina on a track scholarship. Her husband, John, is a professional dog trainer in the area. Their household also consists of a golden named Liam and 2 special-needs cats, Woodrow & Theo. Angela also enjoys hiking with her husband, reading, running, and spending time with her family.
